# Step 4: Add Promotion to email template

A promotion can be added to any HelpfulCrowd email template.

Active and available promotions will be displayed in the placeholder section of the email templates.

When the promotion expires or coupon is no longer valid, the Promotion (text and coupon) will **automatically be hidden** in all emails it is attached to.

In the example below, we are inserting the Promotion **ThankU5%** containing a unique coupons to the **Positive Thank-you email template**.
